Derek Webb

Derek Webb, Director and CEO

Derek began his investment career in 1983 as an investment banking associate in New York. He held various fixed-income roles with Brown Brothers Harriman, Salomon Brothers, Trust Company of the West and Citicorp.

In 1992, Derek moved to GT Global (Amvescap) in San Francisco where he began his portfolio management career and managed Canadian, US and global equity funds. By 2000, Derek was a Global Partner of Amvescap, the CIO for over $11 billion in global, sector and Canadian funds, and the sole portfolio manager for over $4 billion.

Derek left AIM Trademark in 2000 and, in co-operation with CI Funds, launched the Landmark family of funds, which included a Canadian, US, global and long/short fund. In 2006, Derek co-founded Webb Asset Management. Derek received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College and a Masters of Business Administration from the Wharton Business School. Derek holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute.

Hasani is currently National Sales Manager for Webb Asset Management; bringing over 10 years of experience in the investment industry with a solid background in Economics and Business from the University of Western Ontario.

Prior to his current role Hasani was VP of Business Development for Horizons Exchange Traded Funds from 2006-2010. In this role he significantly contributed to helping Horizons ETFs to become the fastest ever growing fund company increasing asset levels from $25 million to in excess of $3 billion.

Hasani also worked for Franklin Templeton Investments in various senior positions in client relations and business continuity from 2003-2006. While at Franklin Templeton he was involved with many ground breaking initiatives for the company and the industry.

Sam Droulias, Director and CFO

In 1988, Sam started his career with Scotia Capital Markets in the Toronto office in the private wealth management division and subsequently transitioned into Institutional Equity sales and moved to New York in 1991. He has held various positions in Institutional Equities from 1995 through 2007.

As a Managing Director and Branch Manager with MidlandWalwyn, and RBC Global Markets, through his leadership role his teams were recognized as capturing the #1 market share of Canadian equities traded with US Institutional clients.

Sam transitioned into US equities and joined as Director, Institutional Equity Sales with Credit Suisse in 2000, and subsequently joined Jefferies & Company were he managed and was responsible for integrating the US and Canadian equities business with US and Canadian Institutional clients. Since 2008 he has been employed as a Managing Director in the Capital Access Group with Merriman Curhan Ford.
